Canadian Call Center – Revised Hours of Operation

The COVID-19 pandemic represents an unprecedented challenge to governments, businesses, and individuals across the globe. As a member of the business community and society as a whole, Computershare is doing its part in executing its business continuity plans and strategies, as well as adjusting those actions as dictated by the developing situation.

As previously communicated, all of our staff who are capable of working from home will do so until further notice. We are also requiring that any employees with cold or flu symptoms, and any returning from abroad, stay away from work for a period of time. In addition federal, provincial and public health directives, such as school closures and some mass transit bans, have affected some of our employees’ ability to come to work.

This has also affected our Call Center resourcing and capabilities. We thus must make additional adjustments in order to make sure our available staff are concentrated during peak daily servicing hours and during market hours in order to address timely transactional requests.

We are therefore adjusting our Call Center operating hours. We will be opening 30 minutes later at 9AM EDT each day and closing two hours earlier at 6PM EDT, effective from Monday, March 23 until further notice.

All our self-service channels are still fully functional, and we will be placing messages on our Interactive Voice Response system (IVR) pointing callers to those options where they are available, and also warning of potential longer wait times.

Although we have not set a deadline when this policy will be lifted, it is a temporary measure, and we will be watching developments including government advice to assess when we should remove or adapt it at any point.

We are sure that you understand that at Computershare, our people are our most important asset and we need to make the best decisions we can to help protect their health and safety. We do this in order to continue to provide the service you rely on, with a minimal level of disruption as events unfold.
