A Successful Israel Bonds High Holy Day Campaign: some tips
We thank you for your ongoing efforts in keeping the traditional Israel Bonds High Holy Day campaign relevant and strong in the hearts and minds of your congregants.
We hope the following tips will help you. Your feedback is always welcomed and encouraged. Please let us know of any questions, suggestions, issues of concern and ideas about how we can improve.
Tip 1 — Distribute
Distribute this year’s Tab Cards to your congregants.
Tip 2 — Choose a speaker…
Consider choosing a person who can speak passionately and personally about Israel; someone whose personal experiences with Israel and Israel Bonds are the kind that listeners can connect with in a meaningful way.
Tip 3 — Timing of the bonds message…
The success of the campaign is directly related to the number of seats occupied at the time when the Israel Bonds message is delivered. We recommend Kol Nidre (before the rabbinic sermons), Yom Kippur (before Yizkor), or first day of Rosh Hashanah (before noon).
Tip 4 — Before/After…
Pre or post-campaign events can boost results – as will bulletin articles, bimah announcements, and other reminders. We also have a full complement of digital and printable marketing items available for your on/offline bulletin, website and weekly communications. Contact an Israel Bonds office near you to plan a pre or post-event or communications that best fit your congregation.
Tip 5 — Collect Tab Cards…
We will provide your congregation with collection boxes. As you move into the closing of your Israel Bonds message, call on volunteer members to walk slowly up and down the aisles of the sanctuary holding collection boxes for congregants to insert their folded tab cards. You should time your remarks so that you are still talking while the tab cards are being collected. This creates a better opportunity to encourage congregants to be an active part of the campaign.
Following the collection period a few boxes should be placed in conspicuous locations in the synagogue. At your earliest convenience, advise your nearest Israel Bonds office that ballot boxes are ready for pick up.
We wish you, your family, loved ones and the people of Israel a peaceful, sweet and prosperous new year.
