His Excellency Gilad Erdan is Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations. Ambassador Erdan served as Israel's Ambassador to the United States, the first person to hold both roles concurrently since Abba Eban in the 1950s.

As a steadfast defender of Israel – in a place where anti-Israel bias is institutionalized – Ambassador Erdan constantly fights for Israel on the world stage and makes the truth heard loud and clear.

Ambassador Erdan is Israel’s voice on the international stage, and since October 7^th he has led the fight for Israel’s future in the halls of the UN and beyond. Ambassador Erdan speaks truth to power, combats the falsehoods, ensures that the release of the hostages is always at the forefront, and relentlessly defends Israel’s legitimacy in the war against Hamas terror.

Prior to serving as Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Ambassador Erdan served in the Israeli Knesset for 17 years and held several ministerial positions including Minister of Public Security, Minister of Strategic Affairs and Minister of Environmental Protection. He was a member of Israel’s Security Cabinet and led many important reforms in Israeli society.
